It was a rewarding experience to jury the entries in the 2024 Ceramics and Glass Class. Making selections for the exhibition was a difficult task as there were many excellent entries and I only wish I had been able to include more work.

While reviewing the entries, I based my decisions on the overall quality, skill, and creativity displayed in the artwork. I looked for the mastery of materials and techniques, a sense of purposeful intent and confidence in execution, the interaction of forms with space, composition, surface detail, and use of color.

Beyond the success of technical elements, I found enduring qualities in pieces that transcended first impressions and brought me back many times for more reflection. Each successful work expresses the artist’s unique vision, the clear communication of a concept, and often quite simply, the artist’s joy in the creative process. Thank you all for creating and sharing your art.
